What’s next for ‘Naked & Famous’ star Illia?
The iconic makeup brand Illia is expected to announce a new line of cosmetics later this month, but there is some controversy around the brand’s current products.
The makeup brand is under fire from consumers who believe the products contain chemicals that can cause skin cancer.
The brand’s brand manager, Angela Dominguez, issued a statement Thursday saying the products are not tested for carcinogenic chemicals.
Illia did not respond to requests for comment.
The line of products include lip balms, eye shadow and mascara, as well as makeup brushes, powders, and contouring products.
Illias most recent line of lipstick is called Nude & Famous Lush, which was released last year.
The company has been on the market since 1999, and was founded by Illia and her husband, Domingo, in 2013.
Illies current products include a collection of lip balm, eye and cheek powders as well a mascara line.
The beauty line was one of the first to debut in the U.S., and is now one of Illia’s most popular brands, according to beauty blog Beauty & Style.
Illes lip balmers are made with organic ingredients that are certified organic, and have no parabens, sulfates, and fragrance.
Domingos eye and blush brushes are made of organic cotton and organic cotton oil, and the company does not use any preservatives or other synthetic ingredients.
“We believe that our products are safe and our customers deserve the best quality products they can buy.
We hope that our fans are aware that they are supporting the brands health,” Domingotas spokesperson, Andrea Mariotti, said in a statement.
The spokesperson added that Illias products are being made in-house in a small lab in her home.
Illas products are available at Illias Beauty & Co. stores and online, as a subscription service, or as part of a limited edition collection.
