My handsome man and I on Easter! I'm wearing the eyeliner in this photo.

Benefit's They're Real Push Up Liner

The rubberized tip

Hi Friends! Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend. I’ve had this product in my possession for a while now, and just got around to using it. I’ve been so obsessed with my Kat von D Tattoo eyeliner that I didn’t really use anything else. When the unspeakable happened – I lost my Tattoo liner – I decided to pull the Benefit one out as a back up. Let me preface this by saying that I'm a huge fan of Benefit's products and had high hopes for this liner.

I couldn’t make heads or tails of this product – I kept clicking the pen, but no product was coming out. When the product finally did come out, it was too much. So I wiped it off with a tissue. I clicked once more and a glob of product came out. I tried to apply that to my lash line, but the glob just fell off in one piece and landed on my sink. Great.

After a few more tries, I finally get just enough product to come out. It’s tough for me to get an even application. I try going over the same spot a few times, clicking the pen to get more product out. I felt like I was fighting with this thing! Since I was new to the flexible rubber tip, getting my cat eye even on both sides was also a challenge. When all was said and done, it did look nice. But it was a HASSLE to get there. It could be partly due to being new to this eye liner design, but I feel like it was too high maintenance for me, especially on days I have work. I will say that the lasting power was there. The only wear I saw, was 2 tiny black lines on my brow bone from blinking, which happens with most eyeliners. I did also like the shade – it’s a dark, matte black.

All in all, my feelings are pretty mixed about this. I may try playing with it again when I have some more time. I was hoping that I liked this product enough that I wouldn’t have to replace my lost Tattoo eyeliner, but I don’t think that’s the case. What do you guys think – have you tried this product?
