Hey dollfaces! Happy Friday. I found this fun makeup questionnaire and figured - why the hell not! You are more than welcome to repost. If you do, post your link in the comments section so I can see all your favorite things! OK so hereeeeeeee it goes...

1. Do you apply your foundation with a brush, sponge, or fingers?

— A sponge. I know using a sponge makes you lose more product but I do it anyway! #REBEL

2. Do you apply your eyeshadow from light to dark? or dark to light?

— Light to dark

3. Do you prime your eyes?

—Definitely. If I don't, I can kiss my eyeshadow goodbye in a few hours.

4. Concealer first, or after foundation?

—I do my concealer after I apply my base. My base has SPF in it, so I like to apply that under my eyes as well. The concealer is just for covering up any darkness under my eyes.

5. Go for manicures, or manicure yourself?

— Go for manicures! I hate sitting there for an hour to get them done, but it's a necessary evil for me. I'm OK with just painting my nails myself, but in terms of filing, cuticles and maintenance go I leave that to the pros. I only get gel manicures, FYI.

6. Exfoliate lips, face or both?

—BOTH. I use my Clarisonic every morning with a face scrub on it. I exfoliate my lips with FRESH Brown Sugar Lip Polish a few times a week. If I don't, my lipstick looks like absolute shit from chapped lips.

7. On average, how long does it take you to do your makeup?

—Pretty quick. 10-15 minutes. If I'm going somewhere special, I'll spend more time on it. But for work, it's 10 minutes and out the door!

8. Do you wear makeup everyday and everywhere?

—Usually. My version of lazy makeup is Dr. Jart BB Cream, under eye concealer, blush and a touch of mascara. I really apply the BB cream because it evens out my skintone and has SPF in it! BTW - this is the best BB cream ever invented and I will never ever switch! (review here).

9. What release are you most excited about? (Makeup)

—I'm excited about any new makeup item I buy.

10. What’s your weakness? Shoes, purses, clothes, jewelry, eyeshadow, lipstick or other?

— Makeup and accessories mostly. I love getting new jewelry to freshen up an old outfit. And there's always something about swiping on a brand new lipstick that feels outstanding.

11. Do you whiten your teeth?

—I have in the past, but not lately.

12. Wax eyebrows, or pluck?

—Pluck. I've gotten pretty good at maintaining them myself.

13. What do you use to contour?

—I haven't jumped on the contouring train yet. I have a contouring kit that I haven't opened. I like my base makeup to look very natural and some contouring I have seen scares me!

14. False lashes, or natural?

—Both! I love falsies for fun nights out and special occasions.

15. Favorite makeup brand?

—This is too hard!! AHHHHH

16. Liquid eyeliner, pencil or gel?

—I like a marker pen. I've been loving Kat von D's Tattoo Eyeliner. It stays on all day, and the shape of the tip gives you a lot of control. (my review here).

17. Lipstick, lipgloss or chapstick?

—I love them all!! If I had to pick just one, it would be lipstick.

18. Pigments, pressed or cream eyeshadow?

—I use cream eyeshadow the most. I apply a light beige color with my fingertips for a hint of color.

19. If you had to wear only one thing, excluding foundation; what would it be?

— Mascara. I feel naked without it.

20. Favorite color?

— Black.

21. Favorite color combination?

—I love a nude or gold base eyeshadow with a stripe of black eyeliner over it. So classic and appropriate for every occasion!

22. Natural? or Dramatic? (Eye Makeup)

23. Do you care more for quality or name brand?

—Definitely quality. I know that I have bought things in the past just because of the brand name, but that's not always the way to go. Perfect example is NYX. They have fantastic products that are inexpensive.

24. Do you enjoy using face masks? If so which ones?

— Yes. My new favorite are the nugg face masks. It's become an obsession (review here).

25. What is your current addiction? (example: lipsticks, eyeshadows, earrings..)

— Dark lipsticks. Like...vampire dark. I can't stop buying them.

Hope you guys enjoyed!! Repost and send me the link!! Have a great weekend =)

Kendall Jenner for Estee Lauder - First Video Ad is Out!

I think that choosing Kendall to represent a brand like Estee Lauder was a great choice. It freshens up their image while gaining new, younger consumers in the process. I know that everyone isn't a Kardashian/Jenner fan but this girl is beautiful!

Laura Mercier's NEW Paint Wash Liquid Lip Color in Fuchsia Mauve

Laura Mercier just launched a new line of lip color and they are phenomenal. If there was a crown jewel of lip color, this is it. I have been on a complete Laura Mercier kick lately, but that's not the only reason I love this lippy.

Shade: This shade is absolutely perfect for my skin tone. In the tube, it looks a bit intimidating and really purple, but on lips it's so beautiful. It's just the right amount of edgy - I can get away with wearing it to work or out at night. It has such an interesting finish - it's matte with a sheen if that makes sense. Not super shiny, but not completely flat matte either. Just trust me, you'll love it.

Texture: This is the biggest sticking point for me when it comes to lip color. If it's a gloss - is it too sticky, tacky, drying, etc? If it's a lipstick, does it feather, flake, etc? This lip color does none of those things. It glides on so creamy and stays that way. It's not a lip gloss - I would say this is more similar to a liquid lipstick product. It's very pigmented and creamy. You can eat, drink, talk and it will stay on. It oddly stays moist throughout the day and isn't the least bit drying. Which takes me to my next point.

Longevity: This lip color could withstand a tropical storm. I apply my makeup at around 6:30am for work, and sometimes forget to touch it up throughout the day. This thing stays ON. It's so long lasting it almost seems to good to be true. When it finally does start to wear off, it just fades evenly. No feathering, flaking, smearing. It just gets a little paler in color. Especially in the winter months when your lips get cracked and dry, this product just glides over it and almost smooths over the imperfections.

It's safe to say i'm completely obsessed with this product. It's AMAZING.

Here it is in all it's glory! The Paint Wash comes in 9 shades, and is available now at Sephora.
They are $28 each.

Here I am wearing the lip color again! This is my dad and I =)

Hope you guys enjoyed! Has anyone else tried this lip color? Would love to hear your thoughts!

Create Your Own Lipstick! My Experience at the Bite Beauty Lip Lab

Hi friends! Happy Friday!!

So I did something super cool last night. My bestie and I had a date night, and finally went to the Bite Beauty Lip Lab to create our own custom lipstick shades! It was such a blast, and I can’t wait to share it with you guys. I previously blogged about visiting this magical place with some coworkers, but didn’t have time to make any lipsticks. For original post, click here!

So essentially, it’s exactly what it sounds like. You sit down with your own personal lipstick messiah and tell her what you are looking for shade-wise. She sits in front of you and blends different lipstick shades together with a metal spatula. Then, she gives you an applicator to try it on. If you don’t like it – no worries. She can adjust the shade until it’s perfect - make it a little pinker, more nude, more red, your choice.

Once you decide that you LOVE the color, they make a bigger lipstick batch and create the lipstick right in the store! You can walk out of there in 25-30min with a brand new custom shade made by YOU. It really IS that cool. See below for photos!

You walk into the Lip Lab and see this beautiful sight. Adoring sighhhh

My lipstick is officially in the works! I told my girl that I wanted an every day pink lipstick.
She nailed it.

Once you nail down the shade or shades you want, you can pick a flavor! (I stole this photo from my original post haha)
I did one of my lipsticks in mango, and one in lavender. You can test them all out before making a decision. I love this extra touch.

My lipstick palette! My friend and I each did 2 lipsticks - an every day pink and a dark vampy color.
I love that they write down the formula. If you ever want to replenish it, you can get the same exact shade you created the last time!

My lipstick girl hard at work. Here she is making a bigger batch of my lipstick.
After this step, they put the lipstick batch in a mixer to make it uniform.
After that, they press the lipstick into the bullet shape.  (this is done in another room so I couldn't take a photo!)

And ta daaaa! My beautiful vampy shade and my princess pink.

Serving fierceness, party of 2. My girl and our new dark shades! Needless to say, we are obsessed.
It's funny that we made almost the same shade - not on purpose!

My beautiful pink! I really really love it.
I always buy the exact same types of pink - this one is different. It's perfect for my skin tone.

Pretty cool huh? Aside from choosing the shade and the flavor, you can also choose the finish - matte, creamy, etc. They also give you different cap options which I thought was very cute! If you are interested in going, I would suggest bringing some ideas with you. It can be pretty overwhelming walking in there and seeing an ENDLESS array of shades. Go on Pinterest and find some lipstick shades you like, or if you are trying to recreate a shade from a different line you can bring that too. For my dark shade, I told my artist that I wanted something that looks like NYX's Copenhagen shade. I also suggest making an appointment. The place isn't very big! They DO accept walk-ins, but you might have to wait for a spot to open up.

Aside from the sheer genius of creating your own shade, there could be another use for this place - recreating a discontinued shade that you love! Or recreating a celebrity lip look that you are dying over. Not that you need convincing to go. My lipsticks were $36 each. A small price to pay for beauty, in my opinion!

Bite Beauty Lip Lab is in Soho, NY, and this is the website for additional information:

VAMPING. How to Look Like a Lipstick Bad Ass

Hi dolls! So this is my best friend, Mel. She has guest posted for me before on Makeup Majesty, and you guys loved her GUTS. Click here for her Marionette Makeup how to and click here for her Yes, They're Real guest post.

Anyway, here’s a little background about this saucy minx you see before you. She NEVER wore dark lipstick – until now. Her go to lip shades are MAC’s Boy Bait gloss and MAC’s Crème Cup lipstick. For those of you who are familiar, those are very light colors. Think Kim K’s light nude lip. So imagine my surprise when she sends me this very picture via text. Mind. Blown. I forced her to post it on Instagram immediately. I myself have been extremely into dark lip shades lately, and was so excited for Mel to jump on board.

In the photo, she’s wearing MAC lipstick in Media, and MAC lip liner in Burgundy. She originally wanted MAC’s Rebel lipstick, but they were out. So they suggested Media to her instead. After seeing it on her, it’s clear that I need this lipstick immediately. It has such a sexy, edgy look that has BAD ASS written all over it. Certainly not your grandmother’s lipstick. Mel used the Burgundy lip liner all over her lips, then applied Media on top. Doing this makes the lipstick bolder, and will definitely extend the life of the lipstick. No one wants to constantly re-apply their lipstick, especially a dark one that takes a little patience and precision.

I always think a bold lip looks beautiful with very understated eye makeup. Others disagree, but I’m firmly in the camp of “play up one feature.” So either bold lips and understated eyes, or bold eyes and understated lips. It makes the played up feature stand out, like the lipstick does here.

What do you guys think? What lipsticks have you been loving lately? Share with us! xoxo
