Tory Burch Lip Color in Pretty Baby

Hi loves! I finally got my hands on a Tory Burch lipstick! First of all, can we just take a second to bask in the beauty that is the lipstick bullet?! Almost too pretty to use. The packaging makes me really happy. It's so cute to pull out and touch up your lipstick. I also like it, because it's bright so I can easily find it in my overflowing makeup case.

Now let's talk about the color and texture. This shade is called Pretty Baby and it's such a nice color. Very light coral/pink with a hint of subtle sparkle. The texture is a lot more like a tinted lip balm than a lipstick, which is perfect for summer. You could definitely apply it without a mirror. I've worn it to the beach and it's perfect. Just a hint of color and sparkle. All the lipsticks appear darker than they are on your lips, they are all balmy and sheer. Scroll down for more photos!

Thanks for reading dolls! Xo

Your Makeup Bag: What to Keep, What to Toss. Would you pay someone to go through your makeup bag?

This place will. It's called Rouge New York and it's in Soho. I stopped by the makeup salon last week, and was quite impressed. First - the place has a very retro and glamorous feel. Beautiful mirrors with big Broadway type light bulbs around them. They offer a variety of services (I took a business card) but this one in particular interested me - it's called "The Ransack." This is how Rouge describes the service:

You bring your makeup bag to Rouge, we’ll go through it with you and discuss what to keep, what to toss and what to add. We’ll then apply the look of your choice and show you how to make the best use of your personal makeup kit.

This is such a neat idea. How many times have we gone to a makeup counter, and the beauty consultant wanted to sell you a new foundation, concealer, mascara and the list goes on. This service shoes you how to use what you already have to your advantage. Also - how many times do we hold on to dingy old makeup and can't bare to part with it? Does it make sense to trust a professional when they say "you don't need this. chuck it?" Now, what you actually do with their advice is totally up to you. But it got me thinking - what would they think of MY makeup bag? Do I have all the essentials? Am I missing something major? Is my makeup bag a piece of crap?

The service isn't cheap - it'll cost you $125 for The Ransack service. Hey, it IS in Soho. But it got the wheels turning. What if makeup artists offered this service at a cheaper price or as an add on? What do you guys think? As always, thanks for reading!

PS: We are 450 followers strong! I couldn't be prouder of this little blog =)

WTF is this?!?!?!?

Katy Perry – usually your quirkiness is cute and fun. This is NOT. Please stop.

Color Your Ends Mint Green this Weekend

...then wash it out for work on Monday! I am absolutely LOVING Bumble & Bumble's SPRAY hair chalk. It's limited edition, and comes in four colors - mint green, cobalt, lavender, and blush ($19 on the Bumble website).

It's so easy to use. Just spray it on like hairspray - if you want a more intense color, layer a few more sprays. Get creative - do your ends, give yourself "green" lights, or do your whole head for St. Patrick's day. It's so much fun to play with! One tip - the spray makes your hair hard like hairspray. If you try to blush the color through your hair, it will flake off and make a mess. Style your hair then layer on the hair chalk.

I want to get my hands on the blush or lavender next! What do you guys think? xoxo

Bite Beauty Lip Lab – Make Your OWN Lipstick!

I was doing store visits in Soho with my team at work, and we stumbled upon my new obsession. The Bite Beauty Lip Lab. I recognized the brand name, they have a small display in some Sephora doors. I wasn’t aware that they had a free standing store, so we went in to explore. What I found was not any normal “store.” It was every makeup addict’s dream.

Rows and rows of vibrant lipstick bullets in every color imaginable. Different flavors to test. Textures. My brain was having a sensory overload. An employee asked if I had any questions. My reply? “YUP, TELL ME EVERYTHING.”

Beautiful bullets ready to be sliced, diced, mixed and matched! A sight for sore eyes =)

He explained that the sole purpose of the Lip Lab was for customers to create their own lipsticks. You sit down with one of their experts and discuss color and flavor options. They go to the back of the store, and create your lipstick bullet in house! You get to skip along the streets of Soho with your custom created lipstick that very same day. How kick ass is that?

The flavor options. I thought this was displayed so beautifully.

Now your next question is probably “how much is this going to cost me?” In my opinion, it’s not overpriced for what you’re getting. The lipsticks range from $34-$48, I’m assuming it depends on how many colors/flavors you chose to blend into one lipstick. Not practical for “meh I don’t care about makeup” person, but if you are reading this post you are NOT that girl. You want a unique lipstick. The perfect shade. Something created by YOU with just enough pink/red/blue/frost/flavor/shine etc. I also thought it was such a brilliant idea to bring your best friend, mom or favorite makeup lover for their birthday. Make your own lipstick and a mimosa in Soho afterward? I wish my birthday wasn’t in January.

Has anyone experienced the Bite Beauty Lip Lab? I absolutely will be back to try it, and of course share with you all my thoughts. Until then, I will be raiding Pinterest and magazines to find the perfect lipstick shade as inspiration!

Hi friends! I just got the brightest manicure in the world haha. It's a gel color called HAPPY HOUR. Do you guys love it?

And here is a recap of our fun weekend!

Greg at the driving range. Nice swing!

We cooled off from golf with some delicious beer. YUMMY.

I did a quick craft on Saturday night. I bought this frame from AC Moore on clearance for $5
Then I took some scrapbook paper and cut it to size
Get some erasable markers and you have a cute little menu for your kitchen!

Last but certainly not least, backyard mimosas and tanning with my doll Mel!

How was your weekend? Happy Monday! (not...)
