Today, Greg and I are starting the program Couch-to-5K to get in shape for our wedding! If you've never heard of it, it's a running program created for beginners. It's 3 times a week for 9 weeks, and starts you off very slowly - the first few days are a mix of jogging and walking for 20 minutes. The idea is to start you off slow so you don't burn out and get tired, or worse, hurt yourself. You can download an app for your phone or ipod that tells you when to change pace and keeps track of your time. At the end of 9 weeks, you should be able to run a 5K without stopping. We were totally nerdy and excited about starting the program and went out and bought custom sneakers from Fleet Feet in Hoboken (above!), then went to Target for tons of new running gear.
Wish us luck! I will check back in with you guys about how we are doing. I'm not a work out freak by any means, I actually hate it, so we will see how it works out! I still intend on doing my zumba class once a week, so let's cross our fingers! More product reviews to come soon... =)
